Who I Am
Copyright Christopher Mann
I am a thirty-year-old dance artist based in London. I trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and went on to complete a Masters degree through the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. I am a Co-Devisor, Delivering Artist and Examiner for Rambert Grades, a ground-breaking Creative Contemporary Dance Syllabus. I have performed on stage and in front of the camera, I have choreographed for an increasing number of individuals, dance schools and dance organisations, and I have been working extensively within the world of teaching. Teaching has led me to understand and have involvement in the ‘dance for health’ scene, has given me so many opportunities to enjoy the uninhibited approach to movement that children embody and it has deepened my own dance practice immeasurably. I aim to break down hierarchy and instead, instil a mutual respect in the space, mutual give and take and an ethos of open communication and open-mindedness. I wish for any participant of my classes to leave with an overall sense of meaningful connection that will remain with them long after they have left the studio. I seek to meet and support other artists, gain new experiences within my field and to consistently broaden and diversify my skills.
